Default Oil filter wrench

I recall a post detailing oil change and filter change procedure. Does anyone recall the part number for the Toyota filter wrench and alternatively where to get the filter wrench from a tool supplier?
Thanks in advance.

You can get cheap plastic ones -- I don't recommend it.

I understand that the oil filter wrench, Part #09228-06500-02 is gold filled.

My '08 presently only has about 300 miles on it.
Being's the dealer does a comp'd oil change at the first 5,000 miles it will be at ~10,000 miles before I 'become one' with mine by changing my own oil.

I know I won't be expecting the common spin-on filter any longer. I do have six of the newer cartridge refill kits, but still don't know what to expect.

Is there something under there that truly requires some sort of specialized wrench that isn't readily available in a well-stocked tool chest?

Whit

Default Oil Filter Wrench 64mm x 14

I purchase an oil filter wrench (64mm x 14) today for my 2008 IS 250 AWD from the local Toyota dealer. It is made by CTA and the part number on package is CTA2485.
It cost $12.09 plus tax. The receipt from this local Toyota parts dept has their internal part number as 57765. It worked great!

Under $20 on
Amazon and works/fits perfect.

I refer to these excellent oil change instructions (Thanks Burnaby/Johnny!), which are likely the ones you are remembering:

Yea, but if you buy the wrench from Lexus, you get a free loaner wrench if your wrench has to go into the dealer for a recall.

I ordered the other one on Amazon. Used it to change my oil filter about 3 weeks ago. It did the job. http://www.amazon.com/K-D-Tools-3253...xgy_auto_img_b
