Does it really take that much more effort to type "power" than it does to type "pr"?

When you have arms full of groceries or other things, it's nice to just hit the power trunk button and have that trunk wide open to drop the stuff into it. Before I installed my rear spoiler, it would open all the way up when I hit my trunk release. Now because of the extra weight of the spoiler, it just pops ajar and I have to lift the trunk lid up all the way open before I can drop anything into the trunk.

Don't you guys have a key-fob with trunk opener button?
I open my trunk from home or the shop. (Its cool to see it opening from a distance)

Yes we do. Your confusing a power trunk RELEASE with a power trunk OPENER.. We all have the power trunk release, but the opener actually fully opens the trunk with a motor and also closes it fully from open.

Why doesn't that fob have the red horn/panic button?

But handy to find your car in a dark and/or crowded parking lot!

You might be able to press multiple buttons at once to do the same thing. Just speculating, but they may just require pressing two of those buttons at once to get it to panic mode. Or you could check your version of the user's manual to see if that feature is there.

Are you saying that the trunk on your 2008 LS will not automatically open all the way up? I also thought it has a button in the trunk lid to close automatically and lock shut. My 2012 could do this, and I thought this feature was introduced way back in 2007. If that is incorrect, when did power trunk release become power trunk opener?

This was an option available, but my car was not equipped with it. Mine just pops unlocked requiring me to lift up the trunk by hand, much like most every other car out there.

It's included with the Comfort package along with soft-close doors.

Thanks, I didn't know it was an option. For a luxury flagship, this feature should be standard. Along the same lines, I am surprised that the LS still does not have a button to power close the trunk from the driver seat. I am guessing the Mercs and Beamers have this feature.

My 7 series did not. I think it has something to do with safety. Little children getting squashed and all.....
