I only got this option because of the one touch trunk close. However, I have so much come to appreciate the soft door close. It doesn't happen often, but times when your hands are full and you nudge the door close with your hip, it's nice that the door closes even if you didn't nudge it enough. The alternative used to be putting everything down so you could slam the door!
And it really pisses me off when someone slams my door now, or if I soft close it and they in turn open it and slam it. I love this feature.

Frustrating indeed but some people are not aware of soft closing doors or forget.

There is a strap in the trunk to hold a windshield washer fluid gallon jug, keeping it from bouncing around in there.

Tec80, surely you must be joking. I have never heard of a strap to hold a spare jug of windshield washer!!

The strap in my Lexus holds the first-aid kit. Then again, one can clean cuts with some washer fluid

I thought the strap was to hold the big lexus books It's what I put there. The first aid kit has some velcro on the back, that thing could stick anywhere in trunk.

Useful info because I have never noticed this strap. I will used it to hold my Lexus manuals.

I missed something. What's a "pr" trunk?

I'm going to go home and look for said gallon jug strap. I've not noticed it.

Maybe your making a joke but some trunk lids have the power option. It takes what seems like forever to open by itself instead of just flipping up with really no resistance anyway. Closing with power doesn't matter because you just walk away anyway you don't just stand there and wait. Now power tailgates make lots of sense because they are heavy and tall to reach on pull down. If I was picking options this pr door close and trunk lid option would not be on my list. They help give the car the wow factor and I guess that's part of a 75 to 90k car. And some people seem to like it anyway.

Ohhhh, duhhhh I just didn't decipher power from pr. But I agree with you. When pulling the latch at the rear, it is too slow to open. Pushing the button from the inside is fine because it is up by the time you get back there. It also doesn't make sense that pushing the button from the inside does not close the trunk. I've had a couple of occasions where I sat in the car, looked in the mirror saw it up. I just wanted to push the button and drive away. But I had to get back out.

Yea my Ml350 tailgate closes from the button inside the car. Once again the pr tailgate is almost the only thing that hasn't broken on that car. Yet!

Yep...that strap holds the First Ad kit. But no reason one can't be resourceful and find multiple uses for something!

LOL. It's the FIRST thing that broke in my BMW! But I sure wish I had the option in my LS. I'd gladly trade my self-park option for it, If there was a retrofit kit that allowed me to install a pwr trunk, I'd be all over it.

Yea my self park either doesn't work or I cant figure out how to use it. When I get it to do anything it just cuts off in the middle of the backup. The pr trunk lid is just plain stupid. My opinion only.
