LS vs LX
Do any of you have the LX570 yet? Any of you thought about changing to the LX570?
Also, did anyone get any time with the LX and if so, how did you think it compares to the LS (Driving feedback, comfort, noise, acceleration, braking, etc.)?
It looks very nice in the interior and is similar to ours at least from the pictures.

We just looked at the LX to replace our SUV, second car. It is no comparison to the LS. The LX is a truck, plan and simple in every way. It was way to large for our needs, they say it's a new truck but it really is not just a face lift.
There were really no likes....dislikes the rear jump seats don't fold flush and steals storage room. It's not full time AWD you have to put it in 4wd so it's part time. Your sitting up on a huge platform not in it. Hard to get in a out. The styling is just weird in and out.
We went with a MB GL450, found it to be an almost perfect new SUV for our needs. Just the right size, not huge not small. Powerful yet drives like a car. Power fold away 3rd row seats. All time 4WD. 55,600 base 74k fully optioned.
I find Edmunds.com to be the best to compare, if you read the pro' and con's they are very accurate. Also the trade in and sale prices they post are accurate.

Every single U.S bound Toyota Landcruiser / Lexus LX has all time 4WD, it’s not an option never was.
You probably saw the (4HI / 4LO) shifter and thought it was part time.
Regardless of what you read I suggest you guys go and drive one, I did. It's 2wheel drive. There is a 2 toggle switchs on the center lower column. You have to switch or engage the 4wheel system. It has a 4 wheel high and 4 wheel low to choose from. It's not recommend you leave it in 4wheel drive all the time, like the old truck. They said it's like that so you can turn it off and get better fuel mileage. I don't think the 4WD unit will operate well on dry roads, I could be wrong but thats what I saw. I'm more worried about my wife driving over black ice here in the North East and forgetting to put it in 4wd, a real concern.
The old truck had a shift **** you had to pull in to engage the 4wheel drive. Now it's a electronic switch that engages it. Same with the rest of the truck. same old clunky 3rd row seats, same exact seats, now they are power.
When you have a car/truck that does not allow you to turn off the four wheel system it's called full time all wheel drive. When you have a vehicle that you have to turn on or engage the 4WD it's called part time, it's not designed to run all the time, but I guess you could.

Once again, I think you are mistaken. There is a transfer case button (to engage and disengage) then there is a 4hi and 4lo button. dunno maybe you somehow drove the only 2 wheel drive known on your test drive

Here is a picture for reference

and did you take the truck off road or take it on a certain obstacle on your test drive to ascertain that its 2wd?
I do not mean any disrespect but I have sat in the car gone thru it and everyone I've spoken to said its all time 4wd. I was at the dealership for 5 hours while a friend was buying a car, I looked thru the car from top to bottom.
Umm not exactly...
Those switches you refer to are differential locks; and only some Landcruisers / LX’s came with stock lockers, others did not and had no such dial. If you got into a certain situation where you needed to lock your differentials you would just turn a dial comfortably located in the cabin of the truck. The only people who have to get out of the car and manually twist the front hub switches are people who have bought and installed AFTERMARKET lockers and therefore do not have the automatic vacuum activated lockers.
You guys might want to check out IH8mud.com, there is a lot of good info on these trucks!!

Don't put too much confidence in AWD/4WD. It is only useful in getting you going. On black ice you will rely on the stability control systems and the equally important snow/ice tires. The tires are one of the most important investments you can make.
