Default 2008 LS 460 Touring Wheels Question

a long-time BMW customer.... strongly considering switching to the Lexus brand.

have cast my eyes on a 2007 LS 460 SWB in Obsidian Black. I am convinced the car would look spectacular and more sportier with the 2008 LS 460L Touring Wheels.

Is it possible to order/install the 2008 Touring Wheels/Tires for the 2007 LS 460 SWB? is it the same bolt pattern? Cost?

greatly appreciate you input.... regards.

Same bolt pattern for all LS460 wheels : 5 x 120. It's been posted here that some dealerships have tried installing 19" Touring wheels on non-Touring models & reported no problems.

I am not sure how much the U.S. dealers charge for the 19" 5-spokes Touring wheels, but I've asked a local dealer how much for ordering the 19" 7-spokes wheels of the LS600hL, they looked it up & told me C$3000 just for the rims. Of course ordering from the dealer is always expensive . . .

I can tell you one of the biggest reasons I have not bought the LS460 is the wheels, the stock ones I do not like at all. I was hoping if I waited for the 08 model they might come with the ones you speak of, if not I'm leaning towards the BMW 7 series. Oh, the second reason is all of the reported wind noise problems but I would think that issue has been fixed on the 08's.

Wake up Leuxs, lots of complaints about your wheel style. Need more options like on the BMW's

I agree Lexus should offer more(& better) wheel options, but I won't base my choice of cars on the stock wheels, lots of better after market ones that will fit well to choose from, & the best aftermarket ones are almost always better than any stock wheels.

I hear you...I have ordered a 2008 obsidian SWB. I asked both local dealers about putting the 19inch Touring wheels on the SWB...Both of them advised against it. Both said they wouldn't do it. The brake calipers are larger on the touring model, so you are putting bigger wheels on the smaller brakes on the SWB. They gave me all types of reasons not to do it. There is also a sticker on the window telling you not to change tire size. I know some folks have done it, but the dealers and Lexus both say, don't do it.

I recently bought a 460 L Coming from an Audi A8L. I regret the decision every day. The Wind Noise makes me crazy. Lexus and my dealer have this far been useless. It will be present on the 2008 models as well as it appears to be a design flaw. Coming from a German car The lexus will ride softer with too much body roll. I would recommend the air suspension if you must get a Lexus and wait for one to be built. Better yet stick to the 7 series

German cars put a premium on handling and harsh ride. By no means are they quiet either. My CLS is not as quiet as my LS. I like them both but for different reasons.

Now, to go back on-topic, I, too, would want the touring wheels. I've read that it fits on the swb? Anyone with an swb with the touring wheels please chime in?

I've seen an LS 460 L with the Touring pkg several times in person, definitely like those wheels.

Edit: this is Lexus GB (Europe spec) - a video of an LS 460 owner taking delivery with 5-spoke wheels:

rosegrad, being a 3rd generation BM 7 series owner myself I would highly recommend you go for the touring package. I'm not sure if 19' tires would fit the 18' stock spring height. Agree Lex has poor factory wheel choices and aftermarket does not look much better at this time.

I have the touring pack and it's a must IMHO to have it especially coming out of the BM, you won't regret it.

I'm here in the Lexus world because of chief BMW designer Chris Bangel.....

Yeah, not much if at all between the 18" & 19". Actually, I vaguely remember someone posted here that the 19's actually feels a little lighter ??
