Default Squeaks and Rattles Continued

My 2007 LS has 2K miles on it and has been in 3 times for a headliner rattle as well as noticeable squeaks coming from the dash area. Very similar to my first year GS430. The car still has rattles and squeaks (often when you ride over uneven pavement or bumps) despite having the glove box TSB finished, parts of the dash felted and the headliner pulled down a few time. Also the car has the wind noise (which I knew about and frankly don't care too much about). I have spoken to Lexus National and their customer service so far is excellent. They are sending in a regional tech to look at the car as they take these seriously especially since I have owned many, many Lexus over the past 10 years. First year cars always have some issues so I am not surprised. I also expect the issues to be resolved. Other than these annoyances (which some people may not even mind) the car itself is wonderful. Engine fantastic, inside materials really nice (except too much plastic in the center console IMO), and a look that can't be beat. Having had many german cars also I forget how minor these complaints really can be. Nevertheless, for 75K I want no noises of any kind except that fantastic ML stereo. Let's see what happens. Good luck all with the wind noise issues.

Thanks! Let us know what they do about your rattles. My car so far doesn't have the rattles. I agree about the cheap center console. My last LS 430 had leather. I don't know why they put a cheap cover on the LS 460. My car goes in for the wind noise on the 24th.

Good luck!

Craig

Many, many years ago when the only car you bought was out of Detroit, my father once told me that you didn't want to own a car that was built on a Monday. I wonder if that holds true for these cars as well. Maybe the workers partied hard the weekend before some of these were built.

Maybe mine was built on a Wednesday because thus far it has been flawless.

Do you think in Japan they play hard during the weekend? I can see the German/beer relation but the Japanese/Sake paradox doesn't seem too obvious.
