Default Just picked up LS460L Touring

Quick question about Unlocking NAV/BLUETOOTH/DVD in MOTION/and IPOD,

Does anyone have any experience with enabling these functions while driving???

Also does anyone experience a resonance in the cabin around 58 MPH??

Congrats on the car and Welcome to the Club!

I'm not sure about enabling Nav functions while driving. I typically just use voice commands.

As for the resonance, that is odd. I only get an annoying resonance when the window or sunroof is open.

I have the same car and color, I have 4-k miles. One of the largest complaints we all have is Lexus locks you out of the nav, the video and the cell phone once the car starts rolling. Hopefully someone will come out with something soon to hack the system. Their is a web site called "lock pick.com" or something like that who sells overrides for most other systems. I have to laugh at Lexus in their tag line 'The Pursuit of Perfection" that is dictated by the lawyers not the customer.

As far as your cabin noise that would be the dreaded wind noise most of us are experiencing on long and short wheel base models. It seems the drivers and pass windows do not seal or close all the way. Lexus has no fix. I'm waiting for a tech service rep from Lex corp, not the dealer to contact me. So far it's been 4 days and nothing. All I keep hearing is their will be a TSIB out soon but nobody knows especially the dealer. If they can't fix it the car it's going back to Japan and let the wind noise drive the engineer nuts while he drives it back and forth to work. I'm very dissatisfied the way Lex is handling this problem, seems to be a lack of urgency and it's just tough luck.

How does the car handle compared to the SWB version or the old 430 European?

Inquiring minds want to know!

Thanx for your replies.

First I do not believe this is a wind noise it is not even really a noise at all more like a resonance. Otherwise the car is incredible. I had a 911 Carrara S on order in which the deal kinda fell through so I was a little dissapointed at first but after putting about 50 miles on the car since yesterday and impressing everyone with its parking abilities I am very happy. As for the way it drives I would say the touring package is a must not only for its vastly upgraded in looks 19 inch wheels but the car has a overall tightness that I did not feel with the regular LS460. It really is a shame that Lexus does not offer this package in the short Wheelbase. Anyway one more question? Can you store presets for XM it doesn't seem like a can as with my 2006 GS430??

Yes, you can store 18 presets for XM. Cycle through the "AM-SAT" button.

Congrats on the new car!

Of course, this would be the greatest car in the world...save for the fact that the Navigation Motion Lockout(tm) makes the system that you paid dearly for functionally inoperative.

Why is it you can cycle through 18 XM presets...but you can only list one of the nearest fast food restaurant while you're in motion? Ridiculous. I've been letting Lexus know in every survey, and J.D. Power in every questionaire.

About that "resonance"...I don't have it on my SWB LS460...but I had something very similar win an '06 Infiniti M45 Sport. I got a low pitched tuning fork hum like resonance at 76-79 mph. Got rid of it because of it. Good luck trying to isolate it with Lexus service. It's not "normal", at all.

Congrats on the new LS. Excellent choice with the touring package

The navigation lock-out is a no charge courtesy of the lexus nanny/lawyers.
I mentioned it in the survery for my gx too

If anything, have it enabled when there's a front passenger

The numeric dialing is also disabled. You can still dial through your phone or with the 1 touch memory stored on the screen.

...now, that I did not know...and that is ridiculous.

Are you saying that Bluetooth is disabled so you can't answer calls, even??

BT works it's just the Nav screen with the keypad will not work, while the car is motion. Have to use voice commands.
