iPhone Contact Transfer time
Sorry, but that's not correct. I had no problems syncing my iPhone. All of my contacts now appear in the phone menu in my car.
That the iPhone is "crippled" is not accurate. I have a BMW 2006 750li (giving up on lease assumption next week and getting a 460) - my wife HAD a 2007 X3 Sav for three weeks, but BMW released us from the lease because of serious transmissions issues.
In both cars, the auto's themselves automatically read the entire address books of out Blackberry's (8300) and my new iPhone. BMW's don't store the address - they just download the data on the fly when you start the car - very quick and works perfectly.
My wife's new IS 250 however is as you all have experienced - it does not support the BT protocol required to initiate the download on either the Blackberry or iPhone. So Lexus can actually address this by implementing whatever BT protocol BMW does, and it will read the addresses everytime you enter the vehicle (or one can hope that RIM and Apple add a address book send feature)

The Lexus transfer option requires the user to initiate a "send" from the phone's address book - the iPhone offers no send option for either the entire address book or even a single entry.
How did you accomplish this? Can you detail the steps? If there's a way to have the car initiate the download like the BMW's do (well, not as much a download as a real-time display of the phone's numbers on the iDrive display), then that would be great - but I saw no such option in my limited perusing.
Thanks
I have the 8300, and there is no Transfer Address Book Function that I can see (there is an option akin to this in the Bluetooth menu. but even with this on, it does not transfer on the Lexus, since there appears to be the need for a initiation of the send once the receiving BT device is ready - and the BB 8300 doesn't have this, as far as I can determine)
Thanks
Which Blackberry?

Wish I could help
Unless the 460 is different than the 250, I could see no way to do this with my iPhone in my wife's car.
