Default Refreshing - Still No Major Problems

I have had german cars for so long that I have forgotten what it is like to have a car that has no problems (wind noise issue aside). I have had the car since November and the thing is just perfect. I am just used to having a few problems here and a few there with all of my previously owned cars (BMW, MB). I can't believe that it took me so long to buy an LS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

very good to hear!!!! i'd give it a tad more time to see how the ls quality goes in general. so far it seems like the swb has a bit more problem mainly on the wind noise.

i just hope it's not like the es350

Same here - since February and not a single problem.

After a BMW 7-series ('02), a Mercedes SUV, and a Cadillac STS, this is such a nice change of pace.

I went the opposite direction.

After a '99 LS400 and an '03 LS430, I went with a BMW.

WHAT A MISTAKE!

In the shop 4 times the first year (well, once was my fault). They even charged me for one of the items, claiming that I must have hit the radar cruise control sensor and knocked it out of alignment.

In August, it's back to an LS.

I'm planning on keeping the LS for 10 years or so, it'll be interesting to keep track of the expenses (or lack thereof).

9,000 kms and counting.

So far: Loose rear glove box door (when down) which I fixed myself - added stick on felt pads from Home Depot. Works fine, looks OK. I could have waited, but I thought of it as a minor annoyance, so I fixed it.

Leaking LR tire. Three times this week I've had to put some air in after the tire pressure monitor warned me of the condition (28psi). Dealer didn't find anything this morning when I brought it in, so I suspect the tire's rim seal needs to be redone. They said they'd do it for free if it happens again.

Wind noise. As I mentioned previously, it's not that bad for me, but I do notice some turbulence, especially on the highway, and it gets worse when there's a crosswind. Although, in my case anyway, it's no worse than previous automobiles I've owned or driven. If I did a lot of highway driving, it might start to bug me, but so far, not...

That's about it. My previous Acuras were pretty good as well, and I expect this car to be as good if not better. So far, I am extremely pleased with this acquisition.

Dealer took a shot at my glove box, then I fixed some more, and on May 24, TSIB "NV005-07 - Glove Box Rattle Noise or Loose Condition" was released. It shows 1 more adjustment that the dealer and I didn't do.

I told my wife that we will always own at least one LS If the LX450 didn't have such weird taillights (they look strange from some angles) then I would have three (once my boxster lease is up). Hopefully Lexus will surprise me and redesign the taillight before release...

I heard somewhere that next year is the LX's turn...
