No more oscillating vents?

My dad owned a 1984 Toyota Crown that he imported from japan back in the mid 90's.
It featured massaging back passenger side seat, reclining back seats on both sides, independant rear a/c and with that there was a small "refrigerator" for pop (it was on the "parcel shelf" between the speakers rather than between the seats like the new car), rear radio controls, air suspension, traction control, ABS, and our elusive oscillating vents.
The ride was even better than the LS because it featured a full frame (like we're used to seeing on trucks).
This was on a 1984 car!
That's the stuff that i grew up with in Trinidad. North america just seems to have been left out of all the really good Japanese technology.
My dad's was exactly like this last one...fender mirrors and all.
Actually though, those fender mirrors eliminated the blind spot like nothing else. Took some getting used to but they were really good.

1984 Toyota Crown
Really?!? An 84 crown in Japan had massaging seats, ABS and traction control?
I thought Mercedes came out with ABS first in 1986. And traction control was still a few years away from that.

Actually the first Mercedes ABS was put into mass production in 1978.
That was gen 1 ABS and i remember being able to feel the pulses...especially on the highway. As far as i remember the pulse frequency was between 6 per second at low speeds and 1 per second at high speeds.
Present gen ABS pulses at 15 pulses per second or higher.
As for the massage and traction control...heck yea. They made the stuff back then. You have to consider that at this time the LS/Celsior had not been created yet, so below the Toyota Century (which was like a president-moving luxury battle tank), this was the premier Toyota luxury sedan.

I'm wondering where the oscillating vents button is, if there is one, on the non-NAVI LS 430...looking for pics but so far all are NAVI versions of the LS 430.
Maybe there is a button somewhere...
Edit: found the button on the Non-NAVI LS 430. I wonder if the LS 460 will have this option or not, so far the button hasn't been found...
I agree, its not a huge deal. But I'm surprised if Lexus did not continue the feature, although they may have good reasons I want to know why.

There are features missing on other new Toyota/Lexus models that aren't in the old. Take the new Camry. The trunk hinges used to have a cover on the 02-06 models, now they're exposed again for the new 07. Also, they've added plastic backing to the front seats which looks cheap and it'll hurt if you happen to have your knees jabbed against the front seats. The ES and GS plastic backing are softer but I still would prefer a full upholstered seat.

I am a loooong time reader, and never really reply to anybody, but I couldn't help it when I read this.
ARE YOU SERIOUS?
And how did you come to the conclusion that the previous generation had MORE features, just because the new one lacks one that the last model had?
You want a conversation piece? How about letting the car park itself, that should work.

Give them an inch, and they'll want a mile.
Same reason why I didn't get a later model year E55, they started to decontent the cars. Screw that, if they are going to remove features I'm not standing for it. Vote with your wallet.

Sat in a 460L with the ignition on today. Fan was running but the vents were not moving. Pushed the climate button to bring up the climate screen on the Nav. The button that turns the moving vents on or off on the 430 was not there.
Looks like the oscillating vents are gone unless they are activated some other way.
