That is very interesting. The SWB will not get the auto park APGS feature in any of the packages. It is unlikely to be available as a stand alone option as it is tied to navigation and other sensors.

If the LWB accounts for only 30% of the sales (Lexus projection), 70% of the owners will not have the auto parking feature to 'show off' to their friends!

This by the way is different from the packaging in Canada where package 2 called the Technology package gets the APGS along with milli-wave radar cruise control. This may be because the LWB sales will be quite small in Canada. The two markets have always had different options packages.

I expected the APGS to be an option, it is very special and likely to be an 'exclusive' option rather than a standard thing, which robs it of some cachet.

Hopefully this is not a complete list, or a fully loaded SWB LS460 is actually a step backward (aside from the drivetrain) from the LS430 UL.

That's to be expected, at least from what I have read. The LS 460 has less legroom in the rear, and will not offer all the cool features that the 460 L and 600h L offer. Supposedly the 460 L is the true heir to the 430 UL tradition.

But the Euro LS 460 rear seat with RSES, the works seems pretty nice:

According to the order info sheet I got from my dealer, they expect SWB/LWB to be 50/50 in % at least in my area.

I don't think they intend the LS460 SWB in N.America to be Ultra Lux for this model anymore. The loaded LWB will be the true UL . . .

from what i heard the RSES is a special order option? i could be wrong, but that's probably why it's not on the package list?

agree, putting ottoman on the ls460 is a completely silly mistake. there is not enough space! but i do LOVE the way they setup the euro version though where they have the 5 seats setup with the rear entertainment

from the western allocation, it seems like there will be around 30% ls460l. that's in line with the lexus stretegy i believe? around 30% ls460l and the rest ls460 (and when the hybrid is here it takes up about 5%)?

Oh great. Another example of Lexus not trusting their customers buying their prized vehicles. What's wrong with building up a little inventory of this all-new model so that people can actually buy it? I just don't understand what Lexus is afraid of. That their flagship model is not good enough to be sold in like 30 days? That their customers would be turned off and less likely to buy the car if they actually got to experience the car before they buy it?

Stop the bean counting and you'll get some more respect, Lexus!

I have to say there are some compromises that you have to make to get the RSES/4 seat package with the ottoman. Many would prefer the ability to sit three at the back, plus the car isn't long enough for the ottoman to work the best without compromizing the comfort of the front passenger, so it's really not comparable to a Maybach(& it shouldn't).
So maybe they market the 4 seat package as a specialized package, it's mostly for those that's driven & rarely have a passsenger at the front, maybe they figure not that many % wise would want that. I used to think I would definitely get the 4 seat package(mostly to impress & please my mother), but I am not so sure anymore, it's just a maybe now. It's not even the "top" LS460 model for me anymore although it's the most expensive LS460 you can get, it's only for those who is willing to make the above compromise.

I think having the Exec Seating Package special order only is to be expected, maybe if demand is high, it might become more available, but most people want the 5 seats I imagine.
