Hi, I just bought a 2014 Lexus LS600h and my screen isn't working correctly. Its a Japanese import RHD. When I start the car, the screen initialises correctly (Full Lexus logo appears), then the screen goes black, after about 17-18 seconds, the screen shown in the image below appears and I am unable to do anything except navigate the tabs on the right side of the screen. The mouse is working as does register on the left side of the screen but I cannot navigate any menus. I have checked and changed the fuses related to the amplifier and have done a hard reset by disconnecting the battery. I am unable to soft reset the system by holding the pwr-vol **** as there is no reaction from the screen when doing so. It appears that I still have sound as the parking sensors are still making noise although I have no radio sound. I also notice the clock will not update to my location so I wonder if it could be GPS related however I am unable to check if the clock settings are set to update based on GPS. Any ideas, please help!
I'd message @Striker223 on this forum, he's probably one of the most experienced persons with the LS600h platform. You can used the advanced search function and search only the 4th gen LS forums for "600H" or "LS 600H" and find his threads.
I'd imagine your cars is 100% working correctly, but you are correct in thinking it's all GPS related. All of the software is for Japan so it's not going to display anything in your area. Idk if you can get your local Lexus dealer to reflash the infotainment to your local settings or not? If I remember correctly the screens don't have any software in them, it's getting everything from your center stereo unit. So if you replaced the center stereo unit with a local LS460/LS600h unit it might just start working???
I had a similar issue and turned out to be a pinched connector when I put my head unit back in. Might want to try taking the HVAC unit out and unplugging and replugging everything back in.
