Brake pad and Rotor replacement 07 Ls460 L
Just a FYI for anyone reading this thread. I answered a bunch of my own questions in the post above where i ask a ton of them. I figure it might help someone in the future with the same question. I still wasnt sure if i could do the bad corner then drive the car to flip it around to keep the side im working on facing my garage? It sounds like it should be fine but still not sure having new pads in one corner only for a few stops could be a bad thing? Im thinking of not fliping it around to be safe. Rather me safe than sorry.
Ugh, local parts center says they have to special order my caliper bolts.....i really thought they would have them in stock since they are supposed to be replaced when removed. Im wanting to just reuse the old ones at this point but i would be happier to use new ones. I had like two weeks to get parts and i mess up with a few bolts lol.
So rear brakes are done. It went really smooth better than i expected. The small pad spreader i bought on amazon was a great help. Just having the parking brake off worked just fine for removing old rotors. I still need to do the fronts but they have quite a bit of pad left but since i have the parts and the tools i feel i should just knock them out too soon. I didnt measure runour on the rear rotors because i would have had to have the car in neuteral with parking brake off. Even tho i had front wheels choked i still didnt wanna risk it. If i had a life i would have for sure. I should be able to do it on the front rotors tho. Only thing i see with fronts is having to deal with the dual caliper and maybe tighter bolts due to higher torque spec. I will update if i do the fronts soon. Also wasnt sure i needed new caliper bolts but was happy to have them. Now im debating weather to pickup the front caliper bolts.
