Default Suspension noise back

So after replace all 4 front lower control arms, inner and outer tie rods, ball joints and sway bar links my clicking/clunking noise is back on drivers side. Put it on lift with mechanic friend and went over everything possible to find the loose component etc. upper control arms still look great no play at all. Anybody else have an issue like this? I’m wondering if the beck and arnley control arms failed on one side but they seemed fine. Axels? Any help would be greatly appreciated or if you have any ideas I don’t wanna start replacing things on a wild hunch.

happy holidays.

Some aftermarket parts are bad right out of the box and that could be the case but by the number of parts you've changed I think you were already working on a bit of a hunch. If you're not sure if the part about to be changed is going to fix the issue then you should spend more time on diagnosis.

makes sense. Lower controls were bad when I bought car. I changed myself. When I went to get aligned mechanic said other parts an issue so we changed than. Noise went away for about a month when I installed all that now that I think about what you said. Maybe one of the lowers was factory bad. I used moog sway bar links. They have a grease port, but I didn’t grease them because I’m assuming they were grease with factory, but maybe I coul try that.

You didn't specify in what conditions you can hear the noise.

driver side. Little bumps, never on highway. If I push down on car or use a bar under it I cannot mimick the noise.

If you open the driver side window, can you hear clunking?

I had issue with Beck and Arnley where bushings looked OK but I had a suspension noise, especially, when it was colder outside. Then got progressively worse. Replacing lower control arms has resolved that.

interesting. Well im in New York and it’s winter. All my front end was done about 1000 miles ago. And maybe I did start hearing the noise when it got colder. That would be absurd, though if that’s the case. What brand did you end up going with?

I used the same brand because of the price. Front lower arms would last from a few months up to 12 months (10k-12k miles).

I'm well past 30k miles on Delphi arms and I don't drive gentle, no issues thus far but I did do all 8.

What noise is it? I’m in a similar situation. I’ve done the entire front end with oem parts. I suspect it to be the sway bar bushings, that’s only thing I haven’t changed.

Ok. It doesn’t make noise when I have window open.

it’s hard to describe but maybe it is bushings from cold weather. Just saying this not sure if I’m correct but when driving when I have my left foot flat on mat towards the rear I “feel” it almost when I hit a bump and noise comes

Still snow here so when clears I will jack and grease sway bar links but possible my drivers rearward failed already. I’m wondering when I got it aligned if they didn’t tighten down at ride height when was on lift. I took a bar and I don’t have any movement on that bushing etc so I’m kind of stumped.

I would guess, it is caused by the failed front lower rear arm.

Well just ordered new control arms. Going to replace both on drivers side and see if noise goes away. I do not hear it with windows down but I feel it under my left foot when hit bumps. Bushing doesn’t look bad have to get car on a lift to really be vigilant. I’m hoping maybe I could just tighten it at ride height and it will go away. Does anybody have the torque specs on those bolts?
