Question Non Lexus battery replacement

I apologize if this has been covered and I did not locate.
Any advice, suggestions, brands to avoid when it comes to replacing a battery?
Bought my 08, used. Came with an Interstate flooded cold weather package. I am thinking of sticking with that...

Is your thread title correct?

Or am I misunderstanding your question?

These are older threads, but are on point - LS460, and quite large:

Correct.
Greatly appreciated. I must have searched not as deeply as I thought.
I need to work on my search wording.

I have the same battery in my 2017 with cold weather package. Bought this car as Lexus Certified and that battery was installed by the Lexus dealer. It is my 3rd winter on this battery, so far no issues.

Using the search term "Interstate" in the LS460 sub-forum provides the following result:

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sea...rchid=29966260

Of course, there are a number of non-relevant results, but there are enough on-topic ones as well.

In post #2 above I used the search term "battery".

Either produces a good number, enough to give plenty of good leads.

I believe this is the first website I have been on that uses forums/sub-forums/etc, so this is all new to me, learning how to use and navigate.

You are correct.
The link that you posted, quoting my earlier link has failed for some reason.

Instead, try this:

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sea...rchid=29967042

The first useful post dealing with the topic is about 14 results in.

Title

Battery - LS460

I have no good explanation why my earlier link stopped working.

Then again, computers and me do not get along all that well.

I always use interstate, they have a very good replacement policy if they fail under warranty but I've never had that happen. I can't be bothered with agm batteries.

THE SECOND LINK HAS FAILED.

I will ask Administration to look inro this.

Here is my new attempt to post a link to a results page using "interstate" as my search term in the LS460 sub-forum:

Hi,

search results links are only temporary and aren’t saved so posting those results don’t work long term, just a few minutes. Just the way it works.

need to post links to the exact threads in the results or share the search terms you searched for in order for it to stick unfortunately

Is there any way to alter this situation, which I consider to be highly unsatisfactory?

I am more than happy to help others find a source for threads, as it probably also will help me once I am able to step up to a 460/600, but it is rather galling to find that my extra effort becomes useless after a short while.

As I said, highly unsatisfactory from my perspective, and which I would not have expected from a forum of this perceived stature.

A Lada forum, yes.

A Lexus forum, no.

Yea, my n tekmologee often do not get along either.
I have been diabetic for over 40 years now. The last 10, using insulin pumps, has had the worst results. Switched to maybe last option, before reverting to old school methods, and actually been okay so far (about 3 months into using).

In the Mitsubishi automotive forum that I moderate(primarily for my knowledge of the Australian built Mitsubishi Magna/Verada - sold in the USA as the Diamante)
it is possible for a search term result link to remain "alive" for more than a few minutes:

https://www.mitsubishi-forums.com/th...33#post-562933

(the above example goes back to February2025 and is still "alive", with plenty more of similar examples that I can point to from the Mitsubishi forum)

I would hope that CL Administrators will make some effort to make this, seemingly simple, procedure possible here as well.

Thank you.

15 years for me.

Thankfully, most indicators are under control, except for my ever growing waistline - Ozempic or not.

And that is why I needed to look at a car with more adjustment in the seating department, such as a 460/600.

A bonus being that the rest of the car is going to provide such an elevated level of enjoyment.
