Hello
The cars AC suddenly stopped working. Now it's blowing only hot air. Went to top up the gas and heard big bang compressor sounds and AC started working. But in the morning again it's back to blowing hot air and a whirring sound coming.

What can be the possible causes for this?

Also want to add went for auto car wash one night and the bonnet was not fully closed the next morning AC was working fine but in the evening it stopped working , could that have damaged anything?

Getting the engine wet won't hurt the AC. If the compressor isn't running, or only runs occasionally that would be the place to start. Could be compressor is going, could be just a loose belt. Could also be you are low on refrigerant, but that usually makes the compressor run full time. Most of these things you can't fix on your own, take it to the dealer and have it diagnosed.

 

I can't imagine what the dealer rate is in Abu Dhabi.
