Number 2 is not about pollen. It's when you drive by something that smells, click that, and it will run for a few minutes and "air out" the bad smell.

Yes, but it’s not a “anti pollen program”. It’s mainly for odor. It forces the air through the filter for 1-3 minutes. You press it if you drive by a foul odor or dust etc.

 

I don't but you're free to press it. Need I post the original Japanese manual for this Japanese car? No, too lazy.

 

# 1 is the windshield wiper heater... the regular defroster is the hot coolant sourced forced air blowing
on the inner lower windshield to defrost and dehumidify the windshield. The windshield "deicer" are the
6 -7 wires along the bottom of the windshield that melt the ice that has trapped the blades to the glass.
Much faster than waiting for the engine to warm up.
