2017 LS 460 Yellow Exclamation Mark
I'm looking to buy a 2017 LS 460. Test drove one at a Toyota dealer & a yellow exclamation point warning light displayed on the dashboard throughout the 15 minute test drive. Salesman tried to tell me that the key fob needed a new battery (I don't agree with that statement). I currently own a 2017 RX 350 Fsport & a 2017 RX 450H Fsport and owned a GS 350 Fsport in the past & have never seen a yellow exclamation indicating a new fob battery needed.
There is lots of information out there on yellow exclamation points, but it's usually with another icon such as a horseshoe indicating low tire pressure.
Does anyone have experience with a yellow exclamation point on its own on a LS 460?
Thanks for any advice!

If it were keyfob battery… they’d replace that $3 part. Should say in message center. If not, scan tool should reveal it.
Common is also low tire pressure. Also will show in message center.
Finally could just be a simple maintenance due which pops up every 5k.

A yellow light might be any number of things, of course, so I won't even take a guess at it, since your mechanic (for the PPI inspection) ought to do that as part of the inspection. If you are serious about buying this car, and the light is the only issue keeping you from making the decision to buy it, all the more reason to pay a mechanic the $50 or $100 to inspect it.

I agree as well, complete BS. Fine, tell him once he changes the battery and the light is out you will be back.

The yellow exclamation mark inside a triangle is a general warning usually accompanied by a message on the dash like... sunroof is open...key cannot be detected, if your key is covered by your cell phone etc but usually will only stay on for a few seconds then disappear.
If the light stayed on during your entire test drive there should have been a message on the display, if not then probably best not to go any further until you know what it is/was and don't be satisfied if they tell you it was fixed without a good explanation.

A decent Toyota dealer/mechanic can diagnose this and come up with the codes and possible solutions. I'm thinking the dealer isn't in your corner but trying to misrepresent the car. Be careful and ask if you can have it looked at by a Lexus dealer for a PPI.
Could be the AC filter needs to be replaced although a message should come up in the message center. Or maybe the AC filter needs to be reset. On my 2010 LS460L you just hold the AC/Climate Off button 4 seconds with the engine off but in the start position.
