Default First post, first Lexus

New to forum and Lexus world.
Need some help choosing what car to buy.

2017 LS460 F sport
27,000 miles
2 owner car
Black on black
Airlift management
Air Force struts
Dual compressor
Aimgain body kit
Leon Hardiritt 21” wheels
Drilled and slotted rotor big brake kit
Car is beautiful inside and out, only con very small curb on front rims (tiny)
$31,000

2015 LS460
56,000 miles
2 owner car
Black on black
Comfort package
Interior and paint in nice condition
Cons are a dent on the truck lid, its an eye sore and it’s definitely noticeable more with the black paint. And also a scrape on the font left bumper. It looks like the owner brushed up against something and traded paint a bit, it maybe can buff out but I’m not to sure.
$23,000

Although this is my first post, I’ve been reading and researching topics on this forum for the past 2 weeks in order to help with my car search. I really like the LS with its size and comfort. Also how quiet the cabin is. I’ve seen some people comment on the acceleration being sluggish but I thought it was just fine for what the car is when I test drove both cars. Plus I’m a very chill driver and always light on the pedal. This is a perfect weekend cruiser for me. What car would you get? I want to see what pros and cons/ opinions people have on my situation to help me with my pick.

Thus isnt a post we can help you with as these are completely different cars. The first car is highly modified and will ride like garbage. The second car is stock and has a couple cosmetic issues. personally, i would never consider the first car.

Good luck.

+3 no to #1.

Buts that’s our opinion. If that’s what’s you’re looking for, go for it. To each their own.

I woukdnt hate on a LS just because it’s in bags. I just wouldn’t do that to a LS.

I wouldn't say the first car is going to ride like garbage, but if you're not a fan of coil overs I understand where that's coming from. If you're able to objectively judge the quality of the mods done and the quality of the parts then I'd go with the f sport if it passes. The price difference shouldn't be a problem considering the cost of the mods.

If it was for a daily you'd probably be better off with the other one if everything looks good, the only thing that I would be concerned about on the f sport would be if there was an adjustment made on the control arms so when it's aired out like in the pics it isn't trying to rip the bushings in half.

Thankyou for the feedback
I forgot to add that this will not be a daily if that makes any difference

The answer is always: buy a Miata! (MX-5 roadster!). Lol, not the right forum for that. Yeah the 2nd car is going to be a better LS experience. But to each their own. Actually tho, For 25k, go buy an NC miata ~2010, get a touring soft top, then with the other 15k, find a nice 2005 or 2006 LS430 Ultra Luxury and drive both! Or if you're really up to it the 2019+ ES350 Ultra Luxury's are arguably a better to own car with equivalent interior build and comfort.

Paintless dent repair can likely fix the trunk dent. Guessing $1500 or less for that. It the bumper buffs out, that’s all you need to spend. Best advice is to get a prepurchase inspection done by a knowledgeable mechanic. Then you can customize it the way you like and know it’s done right. Low mileage is a big plus for either car. Good luck.

Not even in the same stratosphere. The LS460 is a much more solid, refined and better made car than a new ES350. ES interior is full of hard plastic, they're nowhere near as quiet or refined, nowhere near the same ride etc.

Yea the car really nice, I’d say immaculate inside and out. I understand the judgement on air ride but when I test drove it, it rode pretty damn nice. Obviously not as smooth as the stock LS suspension but not horrible at all.

I totally agree with you, my friend has a new ES350 and I like the LS interior more by far. Luxury!

I will look into those options for sure, thankyou. And for all the mods that has been done on the F sport (which are really nice) the main selling point for me was the low mileage. I can’t even find one anywhere near 27,000 miles. Iam in Hawaii so selection is scarce.

I don't like the first one. Everything about it screams it was driven hard and maybe abused too. LS460 number 2, the 2015 model, is what I'd get of these two. I get it that you live on the islands so your selection isn't as good as in the lower 49, that's the main reason I didn't just say to go look at yet another LS.

The price for the 2015 is not so bad, but try to get a carfax and any other maintenance and repair that's already been done just so you know what'll be coming due soon. If the present owner is open to it perhaps try to adjust the price based on what the dent will cost to fix. If you can find a good paintless-repair type body man, I'd at least ask him for an estimate, I've seen them work miracles on sheet metal.

Those types of cars are all about low and slow, you won't see them on any Ken Block Gymkhana YouTube videos, you're more likely to see the other one trying to do burnouts or street racing/doing "130" on the highway.
