Welcome. You've chosen two different as can be vehicles. The 2017 (as a car in general) would be the better buy. Has more tech, full screen, and slightly newer. For me the kit is a no, but if you like that sort of thing, then why not. The 2015 looks pretty stock and is also a great car. You'll always have a split screen. If that is of no concern, then that too is a real winner. At the end of the day, if you find the 2017 attractive, have test driven it, and are happy, always get the newest year you can afford. FYI, the 2016 and 2017 has the full screen and more tech. You can add an aftermarket carplay to either car (wish someone offered that for my car, but I digress). Good luck.

I’m leaning towards the 2017 because as you said if you can afford the newer car get the newer car. Plus it’s half the miles of the other. Also the aftermarket CarPlay was gonna be my first mod I do to either car. I’ve seen good reviews here and YouTube vids about it. Looks like a night and day difference between the two infotainment systems. Brighter and more vibrant, quicker response, and convenient with CarPlay etc.
Those types of cars are all about low and slow, you won't see them on any Ken Block Gymkhana YouTube videos, you're more likely to see the other one trying to do burnouts or street racing/doing "130" on the highway.
I agree, the owner says the same. Strictly a cruiser!
