I was visiting some friends today for a few hours and when we left the black dash on my car was really hot from sitting in the sun so I went down the rabbit hole on the webs trying to find a cover but they all seemed pretty generic and cheesy.
Has anybody out there found a nice one for a 13-17 model? My dash is in good shape but I can understand now how they could melt in a hot climate.

I have bought 5 of the shades from covercraft. 1 for my 2010 LS 460L, 1 for my 2006 SC 430, 1 for my sons 2005 SC 430, 1 for my granddaughter's Ford 500 and 1 for my 1990 Ford Bronco II. They are custom cut to each vehicle and are made of a high quality material. There dash covers not so much. Tried to fit one for the LS and never received one that fit right. Returned it for a full refund. Great people to work with. Highly recommend covercraft. And you can get them in different colors to match your car.

I have bought a covercraft sunshade for every car I have owned since the late 90s, they are great...

 

I have their stuff as well except for the W12 since I'm stupid and bought the factory one

 

For the past 20 years or so, I’ve been putting on an 80% (nearly clear) windshield tint. Keeps the UV and heat out. Makes the car far more comfortable in hotter climates too. The dash and steering wheel will be much cooler to the touch & no fiddling w a cover.

 

+1 for the cover craft car covers and window shades. They are a "hard" style so they don't fold up so well but they do insulate the front dash well in the sun. Kinda pricy, but I've had mine for 2+ years now and no notice of wear or tear.

 

Hey Gerf, I just noticed your aluminum pedals. They seem like a matched set and look great. Where did you find these?

When I got my LS, I found aluminum pedals from the GS-F for the brake and accelerator. But I had to fabricate my own for the dead pedal, which has held up really well for 8 years and counting.

Those are the standard F Sport pedals. It came from the factory that way

 

My car is an f sport so the pedals came with the car. The dead man pedal you had made looks good.

 

My dash survived 8 years of BRUTAL Southern CA desert summers using random sunshades from Costco. The last 3 years, I had front windshield tinted to 70%. The tint guy said it'll be like i parked under a shaded tree, well, he was a good salesman...LOL I'm sure it made a little difference in protecting interior from UV rays, but nothing noticeable for heat reduction.

 

Add me to the list of Covercraft shades. Just bought one for mine. Its decent, somewhat heavy, puts a strain on the sun visors, which is a concern since the spring on the driver side one in the wife's GX gave out. The visor wouldn't fully retract, so I had to get a new one. We don't ahve a sunshade for that one. The Covercraft shades don't cover every square inch of the area but do a good job. I have more of a gap around my rearview mirror, and after sending them a photo beforehand, I was told to get the one "with the windshield camera" even though that's a sensor. I'm wondering if I should have kept my order for the one without. Any of you have photos? I'll try to remember to take a picture of how mine looks.

Their dash covers; no. I had a beat up old 89 Taurus SHO that had a destroyed dash. It was a project beater, fun to drive, etc. I just wanted something cheap to make it look better. I bought one of those and had to dremel some of the holes to make it fit; even then, it didn't fully seat properly and warped with the heat. Dash covers just don't work.
