I've been experiencing trouble with the OBD2 connector on my 2007+ Lexus LS 460. Despite checking the 10amp fuse in the OBD2 fuse box on the driver's side and finding it intact, I'm still unable to establish communication with the vehicle's computer using various OBD2 apps and TIS.
Here's what I've done so far:
Confirmed the fuse is in good condition.
Ensured a secure connection of the OBD2 connector.
Despite these steps, I'm still facing the issue of no communication. I've used different OBD2 apps and tools but to no avail.
Does anyone here have any experience with a similar problem or suggestions on what else I could try to resolve this issue? I'm open to any advice or troubleshooting steps you might have. Could there be any other underlying issue causing this problem?
Any guidance or insights is greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance for your help.
First guess would be the app you are using, I know from what others have posted that Carista works.
Is there a problem you are trying to find a solution for ?
The specific reason I urgently need to resolve this issue is to release my parking brake. I recently acquired a new ECU and need to initialize it (a process I've successfully completed twice before). Unfortunately, due to the ongoing OBD connectivity problem, I'm unable to proceed with this crucial step.
If anyone has encountered a similar OBD port issue or has suggestions on how to troubleshoot this problem, I would greatly appreciate your insights and guidance. Has anyone successfully dealt with a non-responsive OBD port and managed to resolve it?
The cable(including version software) you're using, and or the diagnostic program you're using. If either or both are counterfeit or inexpensive bay /chinese origin, many have reported issues in recent months. Several people say their Chinese stuff is fine but I believe they got theirs over a year ago when there were fewer issues. I base my statements on reading other's posts on a daily basis for the past 3-4 years. I suppose the OBD2 plug could have a bent pin or other issue as well. Hope this helps.
My 2008 LS460 would not communicate with the ECU either. My car would not crank. It would try to crank once then die and would not try again for the next few hours. I thought that the ECU was bad so I got a new one. That did not fix the problem and that waa money wasted. Bad mistake on my part.
I began to read different threads on here and found a couple of them that described the same identical problem I had which ended up being the fuel pressure sensor. I did not want to do the work on the car so I took it to the independent shop I used. I told them what I thought to be the problem and they just kind of ignored it. So after their testing of the car they thought I had a open wire/circuit and I told them I did not think that was the problem. I then had my car towed back home and i replaced the sensor and the car cranked and started. MY OB2 can now comminicate with the ECU.
Just maybe that is your problem as well.Look at this thread

I'd assume that your vehicle is also not starting? My car started doing the same thing after I charged the battery, it lost communication and key registration.Although it's still unlocks the doors and turns on the ignition. But does not start. There's a canbus issue and it's not communicating with any modules. I've taken it to two shops and they don't know what to do with it. Hopefully, somebody here will know some information.Because I know we're not the only 2 that are facing this issue. I've only spoke with one other person that was having similar situation and they said that they troubleshooted theirs to find that it was oil pressure sending unit thats under the manifold. I don't think this is my issue. But could possibly be yours? I don't know.
