I looked at this topic and read thru, most are old threads. This vehicle was purchased used, no original CD for the system was not included.. After lots of problem's and doing repairs, we now get the Black screen, Unable to read data, contact dealer. I did contact dealer to see if they could run a disk to see if it was just a disk issue, but they wanted diagnostic and wouldnt even try.. I read somewhere that a dealer might try, but this one wont. If we find an update CD would that have the ability to load, without the original Disk? Trying to see if this is worth trying? I also read where someone bought a CD ? on ebay and just replaced it and that resolved their issue.

Just looking for some ideas. We did try the start twice but no luck. This is my sisters car with limited funds, I can repair, but need to find what is the best economical fix

are you trying to get the nav system working? will it play music cd?

 

Same problem different model.

 

Havent actually tried to play a CD (did insert CD but no music played from it), but we can have the radio, ,but of course cant see the channel. Anything that shows up or uses that screen is not visible.

 

Unfortunately, there is no box under the seat to try these solutions.

 

CD play doesn't work, maps and display don't work. Contact United Radio. They repair these units. They will talk to you about the issue and likely have dealt with your issue many times. Many members here have used their service. No cheap quick fixes on this computerized unit.
