Have some slight oil Burn (Probably 3-4 quarts every 10,000 miles on a 150,000 mile motor. I have been using 0W20 synthetic and changing religiously every 10K. Wanted to know if changing to a different weight oil would slow the oil consumption while keeping the motor operating to peak performance. Any info would be helpful. Thanks
Good products. MUST change oil immediately (roughly 15-20 minutes after treatment). Read and follow instructions or you will damage engine. Also agree that 10k changes are too long of an interval. 0W20 synthetic at 5k is cheap preventive maintenance. Also, coolant and brake fluid changes are likely overdue. Transmission filter change, drain and fill is due as well (usually at 100k). Must follow Lexus special procedure.
Thanks. I ordered two cans of each and will do next week. I also plan on doing oil changes every 5 k from here on out. I did the Tranny Service at 100K. Changed the filter, magnets, and did about 4 Tranny oil mini fills per protocol. Tranny is super smooth. Also did front and rear Diff multiple times as well as one change on the Transfer case with 80LL (Liquid Gold)
Pull the plugs and decarbon the rings via direct soaking with a cleaner, it worked on mine to resolve about the same level of consumption and is what I do with cars at my shop they have the same issue.

Great alternative. A LOT more labor for a DIY to get to the rear plugs though. Also it doesn't clean the entire internals like the oil treatment does. Not being critical, just pointing out the differences.

It is a lot more work yes but it actually addresses the rings directly, anything you add to oil will only be able to splash address and will be massively diluted down.
Internals are best served with diesel fuel as the cleaner since its gentle and you can adjust it to where you want it.
