Default My LS sometimes strata only after pressing start button second time

Hi all, just wondering what’s the issue when I press start the first time it makes starting crank noise but not fully and won’t start. Then the second time I press it it starts. What should I change or be concerned?
please advise what I should get fixed and the cost. Thank you

clean battery connections and connectors retighten and report back.

also this car will drain the battery if you make short trips or not drive it for a week.

My 2014 was doing similar thing. I found i was holding start button too long. I found that if I just tap start button for a short time, it never happened again.

That's happened twice on my 2013, once was when I installed a new battery and once when I cleaned the throttle body...both times it set a P1604 code. I have just for my own testing purposes held down the start button until the engine is running and the engine stays running and the starter disengages, no codes.

Good to know this. New generations often improve systems that were a concern in previous generations.

I tested my 2013 like Gerf. It starts and runs fine with me holding the start button for an extended period. I have noticed that I must use care to apply pressure to brake pedal rather than just resting my foot on the pedal. It probably just my rental feet. LOL.

Following up to this. I made another thread somewhere a few pages back about the same issue, but I couldn't find it initially using my phone. I've been keeping mine on a trickle charger to see if it would help. I got in it tonight to move it after sitting for several days, and the same thing happened, even with the trickle charger connected to it. I checked the battery and someone installed a Super Start Premium 27PRMJ with 810 CCA (O'Reilly's battery). It shows to fit the car and is dated 1/24; so the battery should be fine. I can load test it, but the multimeter shows it's fine also. This is annoying. There are no problems after the second start; only does it initially after sitting several days, whether it's on the charger or not. I only use premium fuel, and I highly doubt it's a fuel system issue, as it's been fully maintained and serviced only at Lexus by the PO and myself. Techstream shows no other codes. I can try tapping the start button quickly next time or holding it longer. My foot is definitely firm on the brake.

Edit: I later found my OP but already replied to this one. Good to know other people have experienced this and it’s not just me.
