My 2013 has 63k on it. No codes, no warning lights. I get 14 mpg. As I live in the city of San Diego, 90% of my driving is on surface streets with lots of stop signs and traffic signals. I drive about 3,500 miles a year. While my car always gets to operating temp, most trips are 2 miles each way. Once a week I get on I5 and go 2 exits at 65 mph. Does anyone have similar situation? On the rare occasionI take a trip on the Interstate for an hour each way, my mileage goes up to about 22 mpg. Yes, I know this type of condition is terrible for fuel economy and the car's "health". It doesn't kill my wallet because I drive so little, but bugs me deep down. I don't recall anyone posting such low mileage.
Has anyone had a similar experience? Maybe during COVID years? My attitude is usually "if it ain't broke, don't fix it", but since the lacquer thinner cat cleaning fix has shown up a lot on my media feeds, I'm entertaining the idea.

The figures you posted looks normal to me. almost identical to my car which has 300k+ miles.
I would recommend cleaning the cats. But why risk it with lacquer thinner if you can use dedicated products like LiquiMoly or other companies. It is really easy to use and only costs around 10$ per product.
I recommend you watch my post on the forums.
My car has 54000 kilometres or 33.500 miles and I get the same mileage as you, travel is all in and around this city but travelling about 60- 70mph most of the time on the main routes.
I would never use any product that claims to clean your cats because they rarely go bad unless you're using crap fuel.
I really appreciate the replies. I only use Costco premium, it's a top tier gasoline. I should probably make a point to do a 45 minute interstate drive once a month. There are enough hills here to get the cat system heated up. The ML stereo makes for great cruising. Good mental therapy too!

When you go for a longer drive and have oil temp up also do a few max power pulls to make sure everything is worked though the whole range.
It's good to hear that others get similar MPG. So many posts are about high MPG. But us city drivers don't speak unless asked.
BTW I used to get 12 mpg until I realized that the momentum of our heavy vehicles just takes a small application of throttle from a stop to coast to the next light in city driving. I was never a lead foot, just do more coasting now and don't hold up traffic either. Now I'm at 14 mpg. It just felt good to realize this.
Today I went back to work after a long break. This time I drove my LS460L since the Avalon was due for some repairs.
Decided to check my Fuel economy on this trip (around 300 miles trip), especially with my high mileage car (a little bit less than 300k miles.)
This time didn't fill at the usual station and the car had 120km (74 miles) of mostly city driving after the last refuel.
First I drove for around 55 miles on the highway at a speed of 90 MPH got an average of 16.5 MPG.
Then Decided to reset the reading of the average fuel consumption while driving at the same speed (90) and got an average of 25.3 MPG
Decided to turn off the Air conditioner and reset it again, and got an even better reading of 26.4 MPG.
Once I arrived I checked the total range (Distance traveled after refueling + Cruising range left) and Got a total of 440 miles on a single tank.
To think that after all these years and wear and the car still maintains this fuel economy is crazy.
Now of course this wouldn't be the case unless one takes care of the car which I really do religoulsy.
What is crazier is that this is during summer at noon time ( temps around 110F sometimes even higher). I tend to get better mileage in wintertime.
A question Though. I've been told by the dealership that my LS needs two new rear axles as the current ones are worn (original axles). They provided the pictures below. I have them on order which would take 30 days to arrive from Japan. would these worn axles affect the fuel economy?
