Default Rumble Strip Type Vibration

I am getting a fast vibration when maintaining speeds at <55mph. If I apply or let off the accelerator it goes away. I just replaced the drive shaft which eliminated another vibration I had. I know I have one LH motor mount. Not sure if that is the culprit.

Any input would be helpful.

Change your trans fluid, that's a classic converter shudder symptom/description

If that's the case, is that just a bandaid or a long term solution?

Lets also assume its never been done and I'm at 154k miles. I just bought the car so I do not have any reliable service history but I do know for certain it was never done at Lexus/Toyota. I have that history and it's thin at best.

Perfect time to do some number of sequential fluid jobs. Adjacent threads got some good info.

I have an appointment tomorrow morning for a trans flush at Lexus. The other fluids I can, and will, do on my own.

It should fix it up no problem, do NOT let them flush it. It HAS to be a pan drop, filter change and pan/magnet/VB cleaning, then refill. Then drain and fill the fluid 3 more times.

If you flush it the trans may die.

Ok, so, no flush then. Is a fluid/filter change and VB cleaning a common Lexus dealer practice? When i worked at Toyota we never did it. What should I expect to pay for such a service?

How do I clean the valve body? How long should I wait before subsequent drain/fill procedures? Once it's all back together how do I get the level set correctly?

No it's not normal practice at all since it takes anywhere from 2-4 hours to do it how I am saying to since you need to remove the pan/filter and then spray everything down with brake cleaner to remove the grey caked on film you will find there. Then you clean the pan out to perfection and get the screws prepped and do any repainting you need to do to the pan/screws. Then you put it back and do the initial fill, then start the car and fill till the overflow overflows and then get to 95*F after going to each gear for 10 seconds. Once at 95 then you final fill it/let the extra fluid flow out from the overflow and seal the pan then stop the engine, next you need to go into TS or something equal and command a VB replacement/shift offset relearn and finally you go drive the car.

Repeat the fluid fill section 4 times or so before doing the memory reset/road test, no wait is needed at all/you can keep the car on the lift the whole time. For the road test I recommend you first gently accelerate from 0-80 twice then do a full hammer 0-130 for the trans to learn everything it needs to know.

how much fluid will I need? Is it imperative that the gasket and filter are Toyota OEM or can I use aftermarket (I only ask because the OEM is several days out and this is my daily)? Can I do the relearn from a Snap On scanner?

thoughts?

The best that you could expect from that product is that it will do absolutely nothing.

Do not use that.....it won't do anything for this trans/fluid combo as well as the issue you are having.
