Default My new LS430

I can't believe how clean this is. Spent 1200 bucks to ship from south, Arizona car. 130k on it. The engine looks like it came off the assembly line minus a little gasket leak Im taking care of. Will need a new rack at some point and the oil pan gasket but I think Ill try to have that done at the time of engine mounts Im also having done. Some of this work I could do but its a much heavier car then Iv jack here in the dirt, kinda sketchy, especially having a jack point like the dif where here it gos one side or the other.
No cracked wood, the gloss on it is so good it looks like its deformed but its the reflection of the trees. The leathers mint too, smells nice, I can't believe its all stitched leather, glove box etc. Some of the things it needed I found out after I bought it but its in such nice shape any work on it is a solid investment. Its basically a 1 owner car, the dealership took it for trade in but couldnt find new actuators and the locks wernt working so they sold it to auction. But then he said last time he drove it they worked. And now they all work. My plan if they fail is just to use the key for now.
So this is my list of stuff to do. All drive train fluids were changed at around 100k by lexus (serviced its life there).
1) Engine/ Trany mounts
2) lower oil pan gasket at the time of mounts
3) Valve cover gasket
4) Steering rack but I have some time so thats a little later on
5) Keep eye on upper oil pan gasket, 15 hour job by shop, think I could live with a slow seep if its not to bad.
6) I don't know, LCAB looks good, I cant find any boots cracked..

Im so thankful for this site and the members here who gave me advice. I had a LS460 I just bought and it needed engine mounts, close to 3 gran, on my ls430 its only 1.5 hours for both. People said to sell it and get one of these because of stuff like that.

Things that I like and are examples of newer isnt better (Vinyl records)
1) Manual mechanism ignition, I know part is electronic but having a direct connection to relay is key
2) Voice command Navigation for finding a gas station, I dont have to mess with my phone and get into accident
3) Radar, I dont car what it does but when you tell people you have radar you get respect
4) The ability to run 16" rims on it
5) Can change oil yourself
6) The entire interior is leather or wood, except the dash, the smell oh yea
7) The subdued body style, every manufacturer is trying to make all these stunning designs that seem contrived
8) Its silent
9) The Easter Eggs

Congratulations. The car indeed ages like a bottle of good wine. The interior is nicer than most 2022s. I bet the engine will outlast many 2022s as well.

Yea the interior isnt plasticy like newer cars even with leather. Thanks, it might be one of the best condition cars Iv bought in my life. Ill have to replace some of the motors in the actuators which Iv seen a ton of videos on. The UL has two motors and a bigger housing for the actuator so might be a but harder.

I'v been looking on this forum on things to do when you first get it.

Congrats! The UL trim is quite nice with the expanded leather everywhere, hard to get much nicer than that unless you get an upper trim car from the other brands or a 460L

Wow, a black UL with Ecru. I've seen black on Cashmere, but not really Ecru, and like mentioned before the Napa leather upgrade (noted by the stitch lines). Great find. I would imagine they had the engine steamed at some point for that mileage which is nice, but the whole thing shows true care. That is optioned out, everything they offered, so that one was about $80k new.

Well the dealer that sold it to auction said it would need a rack, but maybe its got some time. Going to see what mechanic thinks when they do mounts. They also said it would need a new valve cover gasket, but its not leaking that bad. Steam clean thats it. But its not oxidized thats what Im so amazed about, shinny aluminum. Hoses look mint too.
Back and tan has gotta be one of the best color combos for a car. My only fear with the light colored interior is getting it dirty. Im wondering if theres a product that can protect it so it doesnt get stained. The other thing I found out is they lived in Kansas City and had the car serviced in Tucson (such a cool place) so Im thinking they are snow birds or just traveled between so highway miles on smooth roads.

Yea I was worried about the Ecru UL interior but it was in pretty good condition, and I keep my cars in pretty clean so I should be able to live with it. I'm just worried about jeans staining.

@ontheroad how do you like it so far compare to your previous 460? Did CL came with different leather? Man those seats looks brand new, I thought mine was new lol. These are pics of mine from the CL listing. But now they even look better because I got them cleaned and condition. Don’t have after pics.

The leather is way better on the UL. Yea nice score on the CL, looks good on the inside how do you keep it clean? Well like everyone said the 430 is cheaper to maintain. Engine mounts on 430 are going to be 150 bucks labor, on the 460 it would have been 3 grand w parts. I also like how the styling isnt trying to say something loud. Replacing hood struts today with some strong arms, dont like the plastic ball joint mounting set up. Im buying some 7 dollar amazon seat covers for when Im working on it. Theres also a product called Guardsmen Protect to prevent staining, its only 10 bucks. Bummed its November cant cant work much longer on it. So many things I like about it, like to direct injectors. Less is more. Now to find some 16" rims for the winter. Once again cheep parts, 100 bucks a piece shipped.

The mounts are kinda funny to me as someone who has done it on both cars, the 430 was harder to do.

Nice! For 06MY I thought the CL and UL came with same ECRU leather per sales brochure. I use gyeon leather cleaner and conditioner for all my cars. I would recommend getting cleaner and conditioner that will not make it look greasy. For the floor mats I just got a new set, hopefully it will last long time.
