Anyone ever have issues with mirrors working intermittently?

There is a good chance that someone did, but whether their solution will be right for you....

 

I had some problems with a LS430, (2003), that I inherited from my Mother. The mirrors would not deploy completely and sometimes took several attempts by clicking the control button to the left of the steering wheel. The car was garage kept and has only 77k miles on it. I finally spent sometime cleaning out any areas that moved/pivoted in or out. I used WD 40 as a solvent and a lot of water from the garden hose. I finished off with a silicone spray after everything had dried. I had similar problems with the windows operating fully and maybe a couple other minor problems. I've been driving the car for about a year now and all the problems have straightened out. I think all these problems come from sitting a lot. I've always believed in "use it, or lose it!"

 

Define "working intermittently", is it a power fold issue, the mirrors not adjusting when using the switch? The switches failing is sort of common on these
