Sadly on June 20th my 2001 LS430 was involved in an accident. A distracted driver plowed into the back of me pushing me into a truck and damaging the hood. Insurance totaled it, and sadly due to age and mileage, I felt it would've been finically stupid to fix it. Considering I had just replaced the radiator nearly 4 months before the accident and replaced it with the towing packaged radiator.
22 years and 204,244 miles all ended because someone had to answer a text.
This Lexus served me well, was my first car, what I learned to drive in and pass the drivers test. Numerous road trips, railfan adventures both good and bad, late night drives to think and relax. And not only did this Lexus help me, but it helped you guys out as well. The few YouTube videos I made about the Lexus navi, sunroof, throttle body, and door seals have amassed over 30k views.
I ended up buying a 2019 Toyota Camry, I work for a dealership and the employee discounts really help. Had been looking at the 2015/16 IS300s and GS models but numerous issues from previous owners just made them unacceptable. Plus, there is no other car like the LS430, everything fell to hand to me in this car.
But let something be of good. My 04 LS430 in need of the side pillars at leas on the drivers side between the front and rear door.
Would you consider selling them off?

Sadly insurance hauled her away. Most likely stripped down for parts and sold through part supplier vendors.
Yeah insurance gets pretty strict about that stuff. I remember totaling my Nissan Maxima years ago and wanting to grab the tires off of it or swap them as they were nice and newer. They had paid me a very fair price for it, high book, and she said to me very sternly, "That is OUR car. We just bought it." Haha, I get it.
@BTC89LS400 I am sorry to hear about this car, the most important part of course being your health. The sad fact here has been alluded to occasionally on other threads because it weighs on many of our minds. These aren't collector cars and insurance plays numbers, regardless of BaT or eBay. That was a line of questioning when I was with Amica and now State Farm is that I wanted to know I would have a fighting chance to even chip in my own $$ and preserve the car. They still have their limit of course and at some point the car is just valueless, but both companies assured me that there could at least be SOME negotiation. I only left Amica because when I moved to Utah they hiked my rates up so bad...on my spotless record and low risk car.
Your Seastars were a little roughed up, likely from chains (?) but holy moly, your lights were perfect! And your front bumper. But for that kind of damage I would have said farewell too I think.

I made a smart switched and put the old crusty 17" wheels on. Used them as my winter beater seat. The 18" 5 spokes I saved because they're clean and have Conti DSW06s with a lot of life still left on them. It would've been stupider to leave 18s on the car.
My sympathies. Did ya call the cops and did the braindead get busted?
I hope the Camry gives you years of problem free motoring, but if she plays up, there are plenty of good LS's still available.
That's 2 dead LS430s within 1 week on this forum, both caused by incompetent, selfish idiots.

That sucks if it makes you feel better my 430 that was totaled was my wifes first car also. It is very unfortunate that some donkey texting and driving destroyed your car glad your ok and did not sustain any serious injuries. Hope the camry treats you like the 430 did.
