01 LS430 UL
Rear audio control buttons working, power on/off, vol up/down, mode etc.
Front audio control buttons not working. Nothing happens when pressing any button on the stereo or steering wheel?
Audio all works and sounds fine when controlling from rear. The audio unit makes normal noises when turning on/off
I have tried everything I have read, with no change:
Stereo reset, holding vol button, disconnecting battery, disconnected audio unit, etc.
Any more ideas?

Sounds like a duff head/radio unit to me.
The Amp and Tuner are both in the Trunk and it sounds like they are OK.
Maybe get a use head unit from eBay and swap it out.
Make certain that you buy the same part number as there are differences.

Yes I was regretting my last resort would be buying a new stereo unit ..
And youre right, I guess I'd have to have a second unit, even just to test if that is the issue ..

I read something else about pulling out the fuse while its on to reset it, that'll be a final ditch attempt at resetting it this weekend - then Ill troll eBay for a 2nd hand one

New question, which fuse is it that would've blown?

I have checked all relevant ones but none are blown...
