Default Source for Replacement Fuel Tank

My local mechanic just told me that a new fuel tank is needed on my 2003 LS430. The only one they can find is from the dealer ($1,800). Does anyone have a source for this fuel tank? I've checked Rock Auto, CariD, etc.

Thanks in advance!

Is your old tank rusted beyond repair? Some old school radiator shops can repair fuel tanks. Barring that check on car-part.com

It's EDPM plastic, get one from a yard somewhere or buy a new one from here if you want I guess....

I’d question why a plastic fuel tank would need replacing other than a puncture somewhere. Take a look at any local dismantlers, ideally ones that specialize in Toyota/Lexus vehicles or at least Japanese vehicles.
