2005 LS430 Maint Reqd light blinking
The car has 121k miles and seems to be in really good condition(minus the navigation display not on/functioning) but that’s not the problem I’m looking to fix right now.
Three days ago, when I was driving the car, I noticed a red triangle light turn on. It has an exclamation point in the center of it and it says “maint reqd” just underneath the triangle. I did a basic look under the hood and found that the power steering storage cup was almost empty, so I added some to the appropriate level. I then drove it around the neighborhood to see if the light would turn off. The triangle light and maint reqd DID turn off briefly, but then turned back on and are now blinking slowly.
I checked the engine area again, and I can’t seem to find anything noticeably wrong.
I will probably take it to the dealership and get shafted for the fix, but I’m hoping one of you experts would have advice for me..what else the problem could be, things to look for, or worst case scenario when I take the car in to get it checked out, things to be aware of when dealing with the mechanics.
My apologies if I’m not sharing helpful info to resolve the fix. I will try to tell you anything you need to know about the car in order to resolve my problem.
It was my uncle’s car and I think I can find the maintenance manual somewhere. He kept a log and I think it’s somewhere I can find it. Please please please and thanks ahead of time.

That light is a little unnerving when you first discover it, but it is nothing more than a light that is tripped roughly every 5000 miles, give or take. It is not connected to anything other than the odometer!
Just reset it and then remember to do so everytime you change the oil.
