My gas pedal feels real spongy sometimes, and when cruising on the freeway it'll randomly feel like your it just slows down all of a sudden and you have to get back on the pedal again to keep going. I was reading something about the pedal position sensor being the culprit for some people.
Also with the car off and if I push the pedal down by hand it'll kinda stick for a couple seconds before it pops back up. It just doesn't feel right. I happen to have a extra pedal assembly and was going to see if that helps with the pedal feel and other issue on freeway.
Is there anything special I need to know before I do this? Thanks guys

Sorry for your trouble. First of all you need to do is to check mechanical issues of this unit. There are pivots, spring and sensor unit. It also has screws and they may be loose. It is a smart and inexpensive way to find out what is causing the spongy or sticky problem and fix the exact portion.
The quickest way would be to replace the whole assembled unit since the part is only sold as an assembled unit 78120G which costs several hundred dollars as you can find the detail here. Lexus only sells the unit as an assembled unit but only when the sensor (indicated by a red arrow) alone is defective you can purchase the part at a Toyota dealer ordering 89231-47010 as is explained and shown at the link and this will save you some money.

Thank you so much for the help! I actually bought another assembly awhile back on eBay, I just never got around to doing it. I'm going to swap it tommorow.
I appreciate the help.
