Was fitting the supercharger remove fuel rail cross pipe and I bumped the vacuum fuel cut off feed hose with my arm and broke of the plastic spud for the 5/16 hose...bummer !!
The hose was like concrete and obviously and the solenoid body plastic was also very brittle .
A new solenoid was $159 and Ex-Japan 6 weeks away .
I drilled it out and fitted a 1/16 NPT to 1/4 hose tail in , put some clear 1/4 plastic hose on the spud which gave the new piece of 5/16 hose a nice push on fit and I fitted a hose clamo on it
as well .
Went together perrfectly .
Very appy !!
That NPT tap and fitting looks to be working quite well. I believe that's the VSV (vacuum switching valve) for the EVAP system, between the charcoal canister above the gas tank and vents the fumes back to the intake for combustion. At least here in the US that's what its for lol. When you going to dyno the LS?
Are you seeing 7psi now?
As far as my setup, boost has been getting stronger in the colder temps and of course after fitting the 3.25 pulley down from the 3.5. Honestly I am actually a bit nervous to redline it as I believe 12 psi would be easily reached.
Also 10 psi already provides such strong satisfying acceleration I end up shifting a bit early. My previous dyno was just 7.7 psi so I am thinking this pulley could be making another 35-45hp so right up near 375rwhp. Still nothing compared to what the GTE guys are doing but plenty to keep me happy!
I just really enjoy the effortless power now, almost diesel-like when driving around normally combined with the efficiency of running bypassed, when in vacuum regions. This may sound silly but even prior to getting into boost the car feels much more alive, way more willing to accelerate without large throttle inputs. Almost like the boost/ vac guage doesn't tell the whole story, if that makes sense.
~10 psi / 0.7 BAR / 170 kpa, cool morning, WOT but well before redline.
Making well over 6 at around 80% Throttle at just 4300! Great effortless passing power!
