Ive had this road warrior going on for about four years now. I bought it when it was 116, 000 miles now it has 200k plus. It's a 2002, still runs good just have to get a annoying *** knock sensor replaced but when should I get my next tune up? My last tune was around 150k miles.

 

Gotta' be more specific. When was the last timing belt service? Plugs? Coolant flush? Transmission fluid? Rear diff fluid? Brake fluid? Etc, etc, etc.

 

Both the plugs, coil packs & coolant flush was around 150 to 160k I believe. Transmission fluid & brake fluid has been checked on & off throughout the 4 years I've had it. As far as the timing belt, i haven't had that serviced yet.

 

Time for a full timing belt replacement for sure.

 

So even though it hasn't shown any signs of the timing belt going bad you still recommend for me to change it now?

 

If the timing belt breaks, bad things can happen. Replace the belt, idler, tensioner, water pump, serp belt and related bits, etc. Make sure you use the Aisin kit or OEM.

You say the transmission fluid has been "checked". I would drain it and replace with fresh fluid, repeat 3 times after driving 5 or 10 miles.. It is not too difficult to do with the proper tools and your transmission has a dipstick so you can fill up correctly with ease. I use ramps and get about 2.5-3L out with each drain.

You are going to be due for a new radiator at some point, when you do the timing belt job look it over carefully for leaks and if you see any replace it. They are not expensive. It has to come out to access the timing belt anyway.
