Wind noise comes from the back of the sunroof beginning at 40 mph. I don't get any leaks from rain or carwashes, and the external seals look good. I drive the car with the shade closed so I don't have to listen to it.
Any ideas?

As discussed in a previous thread, the sunroof doesn't actually seal like one may think. It has a gutter system and drain tubes that pour out from the car any liquid that may come in.

It does seal and every LS I've owned, 3 total, acted the same. When closing from the Tilt position wind noise is evident. To eliminate this move the moon roof back towards the fully open position. Closing from this position provides a better "Seal" than closing from the tilt position. You don't have to open completely moving it back a few inches will do the trick

Thank you - I will definitely give this a shot today!
Hopefully the moderator's thoughtful suggestion will work for you.
But, referring to car wash leak or rain leak, one may not know how much liquid is getting past the closed sunroof as the sunroof has a gutter system and drain tubes that pour out from the car any liquid that may come in (as long as the tubes are not stopped-up), so one may not know whether water is coming in from such sources. The system is discussed in the video below....
