I came out to my car, covered in snow, and turned it on, turned on the heaters, and got out to scrap. When I got back in the green light in front of the dashboard was lit up, and there was a relatively soft ding noise going off every couple seconds. I turned the car off and back on, and there's actually a series of mechanical beeps right as I turn it on, and the red light next to the green light (again, in front of the dashboard, not part of the dashboard) comes on for a moment as well. Once that stops, it continues with the periodic beeping. I drove it a short ways and nothing seemed wrong so I made my trip as planned, and the light stayed on with the beeping the whole way.
I took a video of all this but it appears to be too large a file to upload here. Instead there are a couple screenshots to show the lights, though the dinging is more concerning.
The red and green lights in the front center come on right when I start it up along with a complicated series of electrical beeping. Then the red light goes off and it's just that green light in the front center that stays on, along with a ding every couple seconds.
I have never seen those lights on my 01 and cannot find anything about it in the owners manual.
Does your car have a hidden radar detector? All I can imagine is that whatever it is it's aftermarket take a closer picture of the lights it's hard to tell from 3 feet away and blurry.
If you have your owner's manual handy, it should explain that green icon and the chime. The second photo shows your check engine light on. maybe that is a clue.
I had a K-40 radar in my 400 that had little light like that and I better at some point the PO of your car had some kind of aftermarket system installed. I would pop the display cover off and investigate further.
