Red light violation.
I just got a red light ticket in the mail.
It was for the night when we had that sudden snowstorm here I think it was April 5 or something.
Even in the pictures it shows the snow everywhere.
I did sort of run the light but not by my own will, my car couldn't stop in time it even shows in the pic that they included in the mail that my brake lights were on.
Can I contest this? Or should I just pay the 100 dollar fine?

through a stop sign and it cost me 175 bucks and 3 points. You could try to contest but I would bet they're just gonna tell you that you were driving too fast for the conditions
Yeah I figured, thank you for your experience on this one.
It's funny since right before that snowstorm I removed my winter rims/tires because I figured it was the last of it.
That's Chicago for ya, heh!
Thanks a bunch, I'll just pay the fee and be even more careful next time!

Luckily it was at 11:40 at night with no other cars out there.
Didn't want to cause an accident, thankfully none happened.
Are you new to Chicago? Did you not know that nights get colder than 45 degrees this early in the season? Summer only tires are summer only not so they don't see snow and slush, it also so they don't see temps below 45 dergees.
Here's a simple question to answer: did you break the law? If the answer is yes (or "yes, but..."), then pay the fine.
