end of June I won an ebay auction for a LS 430. bid was $7,900 and on June 26th I paid ebay $500. and on July 1st I paid $7,548 . I thought that paying with my credit card would help if things did not work out. despite my putting up another $1,000 for the shipping as of today I am still without . no car and no chance to recover any of my money. well that isn't right as my credit card will refund the $1,000 since there is not anything being shipped. congratulations to GaryG at Florida Cars Brokers, you get to keep the money and I guess he can sell it to some one else. I have been with USAA for 49 years and thought they were different. dispute was rejected Sept. 9th. Jeff Credit Card.pdf
Vehicle, 2005 LEXUS LS Mileage 102893, shows an asking price of $7990 as of this moment on the website.... (so what was the problem as bid was only $90 less than current asking price???)

Kinda weird too that the CC's bank (he said USAA I've heard bad things about them for auto insurance) didn't assist? I mean common sense. Paid. Didn't get anything for said payment. Reverse transaction.
One time a guy skimmed my CC at a full serve gas place, and it was like $3300. My CU made me sign an affidavit stating I did not make the charges (I've never been to Sri Lanka). Not the largest one in the USA but the 3rd largest one. I thought that was too much but I complied.

When you purchased the vehicle, did you inform your insurance carrier? (Trust you have a VIN)
The angle is you purchased a vehicle, have a receipt and it never arrived, therefore it is STOLEN. Perfect a police report before submitting a claim with your insurance carrier. Let them sort it out.
This may also have the effect of clouding the title as stolen should anyone attempt to resell at a later date.
If your insurance carrier determines not to cover your loss, then you have an uninsured loss for tax purposes...and another party Defendant to sue in the event you retain Counsel to file a lawsuit.
something funny going on with Car Carriers and this Lexus
The vehicle is still on their website. I just called (and recorded) the conversation. The guy had a middle-eastern accent. (Don't flame me for any stereo-typing or bias or discrimination or xenophobia either. My parents are from the Middle East.)
It was a really odd conversation.
I tried uploading the audio recording but CL doesn't permit the type of file!
This is my transcription...
Rings 6 times.
Him - (beginning of hello is cutoff) ello?
Me - Hello?
Him - Hello?
Me - Yea, hi, is this car carriers?
Him - Yes sir. What can do for you?
Me - Ok. Uhh..I'm calling about a car I found on your guys website?
Him - Which one?
Me- Ahh 2005 Lexus LS430
Him - Ah it's not available sir
Me - Oh, you sold it?
Him - No, it's not available right now.
Me - So......Ok, uh so you sold it?
Him - IT'S NOT AVAILABLE RIGHT NOW. (chuckles) Tank you.
He then hangs up on me.
For some reason I think this dealer is in FLA, from memory. It's not legal to record phone conversations in FLA without consent of the other party. I know this because I was following the story of the serial police impersonator, and he had a habit of doing that and it got him into trouble. I would generally avoid doing that I guess.

C'MON. REALLY? We are not submitting this as evidence to the Supreme Court, nor did I even produce or release the audio recording publically.
Now, if I were looking to railroad and embarrass DJT or Melania, every news publication and cable news outlet would be fighting for the recordings to publicly broadcast them, wouldn't they? I'm a law abiding citizen and recording a phone call to help solve a potential crime or resolve potential fraud is the least important thing to discuss right about now.
dont want to do a daily update on this, but....
today I recieved my credit card bill and have a CREDIT of $8,548.

just want final end to nightmare that was supposed to be something to do during lockdown, but really cannot do much during winter months anyway.
so beware ebay SELLER scams that turn into nightmares. seemed too good to be true and it was
Were you able to contact eBay to allow them to mediate this? Ive had a lot of success both as a buyer and seller getting them involved.
