Car feels like it’s brake checking me when I drive
It’s kind of a long story but a week ago I was driving and could feel the car almost brake checking me. I noticed my brake light was on as if my e brake was locked but when I pull the lever to release nothing happens, it just stayed on. Later that evening my car died, found out it was the alternator. Replaced the alternator and now the check engine light is on with 2 codes are reading one is parking/ebrake sensor and the other is transmission cylinoid and the car still tugs but it doesn’t feel like the tranny is slipping it feels more like it’s brake checking me and none of the gears shift rough or anything. Please help not sure where to start or how to fix this
Maybe it's stuck in a lower gear? Like that deceleration feeling when you drop it into 3rd and your car kinda feels like it's getting dragged back?
As for the parking brake, is it mechanically engaging outside of what the light says, i.e. does the cable still work to stop the rotor from spinning?
What codes do you get? If you have a scanner that can display live data, you may be able to see what gear it's stuck in (if any).
