Default Cabin Air Filter Cover Needed

Hi All,
While replacing the cabin air filter on my 2006 LS 430, the white plastic cover on the air box that must be removed to gain access to the filter cracked a retainer tang during removal. Dealer said it is unavailable as a separate part. Search of local salvage yards in Mass. indicates both were "missing" on located cars. Does anyone know of a vendor who sells this for this part for our vehicles in the aftermarket or a salvage yard in the country that has more LS430's.
Thank you for your assistance,

Tom

You can try these guys: http://www.rancholexusrecycling.com/

I was just at a Junk Yard in Oakland, Ca getting some small items of a LS430 a few days ago. If I knew I would have grabbed this for you.

That Rancho Cordova place noted in post 2 is a good suggestion, and there are many other very large salvage yards in the same neighborhood. Someone in that area should have it. Use google maps to get the names of the other salvage outfits. The number and sheer size of the salvage yards there is mind boggling, actually, and where I would go to look for hard to find used parts for this car, engines, transmissions, etc.

This happened on my '03, it still worked but just doesn't fit as tight. You may want to get the part number and search on eBay or Google. You might find one. Also, try Bell Lexus in Scottsdale. Good Luck.

In the meantime use some blue or green painters tape to hold it in securely.

Looks like part # 88891-50070, PNC 88691S. You may be able to use these numbers to search eBay, Kijiji, etc.

Thanks Guys. The website said fits 01-03 LS 430, but I ordered from my dealer anyways to take a chance. I will let you know. Tom
Ok, Repair Matt was right! Part#88891-50070, Cover, Cooler is the cabin air filter door that fits 01-06 Lexus LS 430. Just a note, during installation it is very important that all three upper tabs roll UNDER the their respective "Gates" before you snap in the 2 lower retainers. This will insure that the foam gasket gets compressed on the blower housing sealing the air in. Thanks to everyone who helped on this! Tom
