150k 2001 ultra lux, 5000$, is this price to good to be true?
i found a listing for a 2001 ultra lux with 150k miles. looks to be well taken care of with water pump and belts done at 100k miles. interior is in alright condition with just normal wear and tear. it is being sold in Texas so i doubt it has serious rust. At that mileage would yall be worried about the air suspension requiring lots of maintenance or will it still be extremely reliable? Also does anyone have experience with the parking sensors? im a newer driver and am looking at buying a ls430 with nav specifically for the parking sensors and camera. Do yall find the parking sensors and camera useful?

If the air suspension is original, one almost has to assume it will need repair or replacement soon.
I find parking sensors and a back-up camera very useful.

I will just echo TriC's comments on the air suspension. As much as I love the ULs, there is zero chance I would buy one just due to the air suspension which WILL almost certainly fail. YMMV.

Lot of money for a 19 year old car. For that price, I'm going to need a binder full of maintenance records...

I also spent lots of time before picking up my 03 UL. Here is what I learned during my search:
Navigation is pretty useless when google map on my phone works much better. However, map still provides a good sense of where you are while driving. I do like having a touch screen for other things such as climate and audio.
Parking sensor works good but I don't use it often.
Air suspension makes the ride better especially during my search. Testing it back to back with other LS without it, I just want UL more. From my research, it really not something that needs to be replace often. Most owners set it for Normal driving and Normal height. If the car you look at with working air suspension without any issue (noise, leak) I wouldn't worry too much.
Like other mentioned, it is an old car but the features UL provides are so cool even with today's standard. After driving many LS with different packages, I ended up with UL black on black

The price is definitely not "too good to be true". As much as we love these cars, that one is still pushing 20 years, and they're all aging out. They're not collector items, and they're prone to the depreciation curve just like anything else. Albeit, as nice and reliable as they are, they're also subject to the market "bottoming out". I think a well-kept 430 with no rust and average mileage will never go too far below the $5,000 mark, while rusty beater-spec models can be found for $1,500 all day long.

^. I tend to agree but would put the floor a little higher. Especially since you see sellers of cheapo cars from the same vintage asking $ 5K or more for a car that is frankly nowhere near the LS430 in terms of comfort or performance, like the clown selling this 2007 base model Honda Civic with 100,000 miles, and needing new CV joints (!) asking $ 7500. https://seattle.craigslist.org/sno/c...114094391.html

The Civic Coupe was also more expensive than the sedan, so "in theory", an EX Coupe would be the "UL" of the non-Si Civic lineup in 2007.

You may be better off seeking an '05 or '06 with the camera and standard suspension. Plus, a lot of cars were flooded in the Houston area so ensure that did not occur on this car (which I still recommend you pass on...)
