Range adjustment on Parking sensors?

Range adjustment on Parking sensors?
Is there a way to adjust the range at which the sensors will detect an object? My Lincoln will detect at 6 to 10 feet. The 3 to 4 inches I get on the Lexus is hardly worth the trouble.
