Cool parking sensors

Hi, I have just joined Club Lexus from Cumbria UK. I have a LS430 2001 and no parking sensors. Can anyone help please? The best affordable aftermarket and DIY.

Same here I have an 2001 LS430 and want to install parking sensors. I saw some on ebay but don't know if they are any good. Does anyone know if the ones on ebay are reliable or even the same with the stock Lexus ones

Why would you want to do this? They are handy, but not that big of a deal. Don't do it, and keep your bumpers beautifuL!

Default LS 430 Parking Sensors

I have a 2001 LS 430 (white) with a bad sensor (right front corner). A concrete base of a parking lot light moved and bumped that corner of the bumper, enough to scrape the paint slightly, but visible damage is little. With the parking assist "on" the computer now continually warns that that sensor is inop.

From what I have read, here and elsewhere, replacing a sensor isn't rocket science, AND sensors are available. My problem (question) is which sensor to order. It seems there is an "inner" and "outer" for sale, but 'where' they go is not discussed/shown by the ventor. All the sensors are shown on the bumper schematic, but are not designated as inner/outer. There isn't enough detail to see a difference, but due to positioning there could be. The diagram and parts listing I have looked at are at the following site: http://www.parts.com/parts/2001/LEXU...agramCallOut=8. The diagram of bumper is (hopefully) attached and the part #25 is listed as the "outer" and #26 is the "inner". Name: 8930020.bmp

If anyone is familar with these sensors and could advise me it would be appreciated. I would like to have sensor 'in hand' before I start pulling the bumper apart to replace the bad one.

Many thanks in advance.
