Hello All
Hope everyone is doing ok with the crisis going on . been doing a little spring cleaning and noticed my 18" rims on my LS are bad , very bad peeling , can anyone recommend a place to replace the rims ?Iam in the south suburbs of Chicago , of course dealer wants for OEM Original 350.00 a piece no way gonna spend that .Thanks
I have the same issue on my 05 to where the air would leak out of one wheel. I went w replacement aftermarket 19's from discount tire and I regret it because the smaller tire makes it ride worse. I may send my factory ones to get repowdercoated at my local powdercoater. They typically charge around $100 per wheel to media blast and powder coat the wheel. I would google search powder coating and see who is near you and call around. Its very common. I have also been seeing our wheels on eBay and FB marketplace and craigslist on occasion.

There are quite a few options for your vehicle in the replacement wheel market well under $350 a wheel, and we would certainly love to earn your business.

We are sorry to hear of your dissatisfaction with the wheels and tires, we would love to get more information, I hope you do not mind us sending you a PM to discuss further.
I did powdercoating here in Central Illinois- came out looking great!
$500 everything out the door with a clearcoat as well.
Knowing that they were "your" original rims, I think it's worth it! I have been tempted by eBay reps, but I don't trust the JWL stamp, and I have this feeling they are counterfeit. So now, I'd rather have original beat up rims over aftermarket replicas. $500 to have originals look new? Probably the best deal (unless that doesn't include fixing scrapes because my 2 right ones came that way with the used car)...but then again for me as I keep thinking about it, I don't want to spend $500 on cosmetic anymore. but I do think it's worth it if you want your car to look mint.

For about $35 you could paint them yourself? If your current wheels are really rough even an average paint job will look much better, it's really not very hard to do, and with the lockdowns you can take your time!

I almost wonder if they would look worse? Kind of like when one has the best intentions of touching something up, and makes a gouge worse or the correction larger than intended (I've learned over the years--watched a pro do it who spent about an hour fixing 5 chips mixing the paint--I appreciated it but I thought da** I coulda just got the factory tubes and done it in 5 min lol). The wheels are not uniformly bad or anything, just paint flaking off all over the place (still not sure why but these cars are consistently made it's like come one come all).
