The Apexi is a dry mesh filter that is reuseable .
You take it out blow it out with compressed air put it back in .

Cool. Didn't know Apexi made one for the Lexus LS 430. Where can one get it?

My suggestion is to use a high quality traditional paper filter and change out every 12-15k miles. I check mine every 5K and vacuum and brush it out along with any debris in the filter air box. Most of the supposed "advanced" air-filters (especially the K&N garbage) are basically snake oil BS combined with a high dollar marketing campaign.

Look at the post above your post old son !!
The test results tell it all .
I had to get the Lexus F sport filter for my wife's IS250 from the States as Lexus in Australia do not stock and are unable to get it even though its sold by Lexus in the Good old USA !!
Previous to that I constructed an enclosed box fed by the stock cold air feed on my wife's LS400 with an Apexi dry mesh cone filter in it and we run up 250,000 K's with it like that .
The LS did actually go better and have more MPG as well .
I run Apexi dry mesh filters on all my cars as the filter is as good at filtering if not better than stock flows more air and last a very long time .
When I find where to get one I'll post it up .

I thought I'd seen an Apexi Sport mesh reusable flat panel but now cannot seem to re-find it .
Will look harder tomorrow and let you know , guess I'll have to do a history search which can take forever...well almost !!

So "results" aka just a number with no dyno chart or parameters to prove it, those are your results? Oh, btw that "article" you linked with "results"...is from an MKIV Supra Forum, not results off an LS430.

Yes, a better flowing filter should net a few HP, but are you gonna feel that? Doubtful.

I looked at that Apexi link too and it shows a whole bunch of different parts, and an "air filter" 4mm in diameter for a vacuum hose. I did not see an engine air filter, maybe I'm blind.

Also, APEX'i in the US is pretty removed, and doesn't have the presence they had 10+ years ago. APEX'i in the rest of the world may show more options, but those parts might not be readily available to the US market.

Groot is based in QLD based off his profile, so that would be the International market for APEX'i.

Do you guys really think that with all the millions in R&D manufacturers put in to designing cars they can't make a proper air filter? If aftermarket high flow filters really improved gas mileage and horsepower don't you think manufacturers would be taking advantage of that too?

If you absolutely have to have that K&N filter remember the oil coats the MAF sensor after a while and it will need to be cleaned. I removed the K&N filter from my car when I got it and installed a OEM paper one, there is no difference other than less engine wear.

Jesus !!
Who mentioned K&N , only the person who wanted to complain about it !!
Mate stay on point , we be talking about dry mesh Apexi filters and nothing else !!
Mr Kos did you not get the point about my LS400 running an Apexi filter for a long time ?
Over 200,000 K's in fact
Or do you just see want you wanna see !!
Personable experience with Apexi filters across many cars over many years .
Who cares if it does or does not increase HP .
Point is that it saves a lot of money over time and filters as well if not better than a stock paper filter .
If you get an increase in HP well and good .
If you make a mod and get 50 kilometers a tank better on average I think one could say it might flow a bit more air...you think ? I do so daily .
You honestly think that in a dyno test on a Supra that shows a bit more HP that the same would not apply to another car....Really !!
Mr jharris where did I ever say that there was anything wrong with the OEM paper filter ??
I simply wanted to share some knowledge that I know to be true about dry mesh reusable Apexi filters that save a ****load of money over time that flow a bit more air that a stock paper filter and filter just as well .
No more no less .
I guess expecting people to have an open mind that is non negative is a bit much even on the LS430 forum .
Before I bought the 430 I had an IS200 Platinum 6 speed manual which had the IS300 air box system fitted with ...wait for it ... an Apexi dry mesh filter !!
I bought that when I sold my two series 3 RX7's which run bridge ported 13 B rotary engines which I built myself , both had 48 IDA carbies which I set up and tuned myself with guess what... wait for it again ...
Yes , Apexi dry mesh filters in a custom airbox !!
I have some experience .
