Question Tail lights fully on. Is there a mod on this?

Gentlemen,

Is there a mod to tweak the tail lights to get them fully on and maybe some other trick to get more lights on when braking?

The more light the safer it is and the better it looks. I never understood why older cars have such big tail lights while only 10% is actually on.....

I feel like you need to post a picture of your car, the tail lights on my 01 are bright and there are a lot of them. How much do you know about the history of your car? Maybe someone installed LED replacements, depending on quality they are probably worse than original.

Yeah that's not normal, the tail lights from 01-03 are incandescent while 04-06 are LED and they do fail, looks like yours have.

Did you just rip up and down the road all day? That's some poor taste in exhaust.

Maybe the leds are off because of EU regulations....

If a group of carspotters ask me to make a couple of revs when I am leaving a carshow, then I will not say "No" to that and I like to rev it up myself as well. I don't know where you are from but over here in Europe we do that all the time. From Japfest to Cars and Coffee and it doesn't matter if you have a Ferrari or a Supra. Everybody loves it.

Taste is very personal and that cant be poor. Especially when things are made properly with high end parts and material. I have spent quite a lot of time, money and energy to get the sound exactly the same as my old 63 AMG and yes. Some people hate sporty v8 car sounds. I made the car 100% for myself and If people dont like it... well they know what they can do.

Calm down, your tail lights are broken not because of your countries regulations but because it happens over time.

Yeah something is wrong with your lights, I would replace the burnt out LEDs/blubs. Sounds really good man, I want mine to just be a quiet cruiser but that's a nice tone. Very euro sounding

Super cool! Where were you exactly?

I love those custom tail lights...
Check these ones out:

Only problem is the price because they all ask about 1500 dollars or even more.

I have thought about making these lights myself and Ill do some VIP stuff with the headlights as well. Check Anija tuning on youtube. This dude named Effspot who is going to Japan all the time with his super cool projectcar (s600 with his 12.000 dollar F1 sound exhaust) and he shows all that cool VIP tuning stuff as well.
I felled in love with this Japanese tuning style....

Just want to chime in. I believe the lighting on your car as depicted in the video is normal.

As per regulation, most, if not all EU LS cars only use the upper portion of the tail lights for the brakes. The lower half are used as tail lights for night or fog lights.

Attached is an 01 LS 430, showing a similar lighting pattern. Note that the lower lights are not on, unlike USDM cars (USDM photo also attached).

The same lighting pattern was done on first and second gen LS models.

I have never seen a non-USDM manual for these cars, but I would assume re-wiring would be in order for you to mimick the US lighting patterns.

Thanks for the compliment about the sound

Mine is allso a very very quit cruiser because I added multiple sandwich layers of Silent coat all over the car. Cost me a few weeks to install. To me it was an extreme job but it payed out. Ill tell more about it in another topic.

Interesting, I almost coudnt imagine that something could break on a Lexus. Especially not a led light and really not both left and right at the same time.

Maybe I should unmount one of the taillights and see whats up with the wiring.

I have an GS300 as well from 2004 and those trunk fog lights arend connected to the brake lights but there was already a pre-connection factory made.
