Ethics aside, people doing things like that contributes to everyone else paying higher insurance rates

"Ethics aside" is how insurance companies operate. No matter what we do they keep raising our rates.
Stolen vehicles are pretty rare, at least not as prevalent as its been in the past, and did your rates go lower? No.
All the new cars have so much accident avoidance that we pay through the nose for but have our rates gone down due to it? No
And to make matters worse we are the ones who have to pay for the "safety features" Insurance companies lobby for laws requiring these features.
So Im not shedding a tear nor do i think because a window is shattered the insurance moguls are going hungry this christmas because of random vandalism.
If anything blame the weather. Thats where insurance companies take the biggest losses.
Also maybe if Lexus charged normal prices for their oem parts people wouldnt look for alternatives. But i digress. I really dont want to hijack this thread.
And i fully respect all points of view even if i disagree with them.

While that is likely partially true, I could also send you numbers to show that car accidents are actually increasing in volume and severity, and payouts are increasing in size due to that as well as the increasing cost of vehicles.
You're right though that it's unfair to hijack someone else's thread by trying to justify insurance fraud.

just sayin

Sorry, I definitely wont be doing anything like this nor forsee anyone busting out the window lol. Even if it were to happen, you still have to claim it making a claim on your insurance and miss out on credits applied even though you dont pay out of pocket....
