i got this car as a first car with 300,000 miles and a lot of problems. the headlights and day lights flicker, my fuel gauge sensor stopped working and it reads i have no gas (as you will see in the video i attached), my nav reads no disk detected, and my fuel door and trunk don’t open and i’ve tried replacing fuses but nothing works for that. my fuel gauge randomly stopped working one day and i track my miles using the trip domter and every 300 miles i fill up. it’s a big inconvenience and i do not want to put a bunch of money into fixing this problem so if anyone else has had this problem and could help it would be appreciated. what’s weird is the gauge doesn’t read E, it reads passed E and maybe something went out. for a week it worked when i would turn over the key a certain amount of times but then after a week it just stopped forever. if anyone can help it would be appreciated. thanks!
The flickering lights sounds like the rectifier/regulator has died so the alternator is putting out nasty voltage.
The rest of the issues are electric too, so as a first step I'd get the electrics checked to see if you have smooth DC coming out of the alternator.
The fuel gauge failure, fuel flap and trunk all not opening sounds like ya have an earthing problem in the rear of the car.
Chances are the gauge is fine, but the sender has a bad earth and is therefore not triggering the gauge.
Again, electrics as are so many things on cars this complex.

Electrical issues with the LS430 have been fairly uncommon but now that our cars are becoming prehistoric.......................
